Boiling Autumn Spices: Home Scents

Boiling Autumn Spices

Boiling Autumn Spices

Autumn has arrived in Montreal!  I absolutely love everything about the Fall.  With the arrival of this amazing Season, I thought I would share this “recipe” courtesy of Everyday Home Blog.  No, it’s not for eating however with ingredients that many of us already have in our kitchen, you can easily make this and your house/apartment will be filled with a beautiful Fall, fresh scent.

Materials

Saucepan/Skillet

Palm-full of whole cloves

4-5 Bay leaves

2-3 Small Cinnamon Sticks (broken into pieces)

Whole Nutmeg

and a few slices of Orange

Instructions

Fill the saucepan with enough water to cover the spices and orange slices.  I also added a few drops of Vanilla Extract.

Bring the water to a boil and then reduce to a simmer and let the aroma fill your home.

Just make sure to keep an eye on the water level- you don’t want to run out of water and have the smell of burnt oranges fill your living space instead.
