Aveeno Clear Complexion with SPF 30 BB Cream Review

While I am not a beauty expert like many of my talented friends, I think that once I find a product I absolutely love, I need to share the information for people like me.  People who may not wear make up too often but still love those “must have” products.

Aveeno BB Cream Clear Complexion Review

I had begun to use Aveeno’s BB Cream a couple of years ago when it was first introduced to the market and I loved it.  One 75 mL bottle of it lasts me an entire year and I love how my skin looks wearing it.  Not only does it feel lightweight, but with the Clear Complexion line, it helps heal the spots left over from old blemishes.  There’s no wonder why it was chosen by Chatelaine Magazine to be part of the Top 100 Beauty products.  To know more about the product, here is what it states on the Aveeno Website:

“An all-in-one secret for an instantly flawless complexion.
Forget about your skin’s past. The present and future are looking good. This nourishing BB cream, or Blemish Balm, instantly moisturizes, evens and brightens your skin’s complexion. The ACTIVE NATURALS® Total Soy Complex formula helps fade the look of marks from past breakouts, conceals current breakouts and won’t clog pores that can lead to future breakouts. If you want a more natural look and the nourishing benefits that traditional make-up and concealers can’t always provide, AVEENO® CLEAR COMPLEXION® BB Cream with SPF 30 is the perfect alternative.”

Growing up, I was not one of the lucky ones who had a clear complexion. Especially, around my time of the month.  While my skin has improved greatly, pregnancy has brought the not so wonderful breakouts back.  While I believe it’s important to watch the chemicals you put in (and on) your body, pregnant or not, I started paying more attention to what products I used.

I steered clear of the acne fighting medicinal ingredients and used products that would just cover my few blemishes; what a mistake.  I bought another cover-up foundation stick that I had previously used and I was extremely disappointed.  I thought it had worked well in the past, and it didn’t contain any acne fighting ingredients.  All that it did this time though, was cause more breakouts.  Even though it is not supposed to clog pores, my skin did not like me using it this time around. It just made things worse.

Why mess with a good thing, right?

Therefore, I went back to using Aveeno’s BB Cream.  After one use, my skin is already thanking me.  While wearing it, my skin still breathes since it is so lightweight. It feels great to know there is SPF 30 in the cream too.  Some people have made comments about the smell it has, but I honestly don’t notice it.  It has helped my skin heal from the breakouts caused by the other cosmetics.  It has not caused any new breakouts.  While I know the amount of water and my diet effects my skin, it feels good to know I am using a product that isn’t making anything worse.

The one con I come up with when it comes to this product, is that Aveeno is a brand that tests on animals.  I do not condone animal testing in any way.  Using cruelty-free products as much as possible is important.  It is unfortunate that I have not been able to find a product that works on my skin type like this one does.  If you have tried this product, know of another product that is similar to it, and it is made by a cruelty-free company, please let me know!

Another con that almost made the list was the price tag.  The most expensive I’ve ever seen it is about $30.  I always wait for it to go on sale and the last time I purchased it, it was $19.99. Twenty dollars for a product that I love and it lasts for an entire year; that is worth it to me.  You can probably tell that I am not one to spend a fortune on cosmetics.

Please feel free to leave any of  your comments and product recommendations!
