Healthy Apple Bread Recipe

Posted on October 7, 2023May 9, 2025 by At Home With Joanna

I’ve made chocolate chip banana bread quite a few times now. It’s the perfect bread for when you want something comforting while also satisfying your sweet tooth. This time, I thought I would change it up a little bit by making this healthy apple bread recipe. Instead of making one big loaf, I used my mini loaf pan. It’s the perfect size for making small loaves or cakes.

I love apple crisp and apple pie.

This is why some readers may find it a tad surprising to learn that I haven’t made apple bread yet. As of today, I can finally cross it off of my list though! This Apple Bread recipe is inspired by the recipe from The BakerMama.

What I like the most about this recipe is that there’s no need for flour! I’ll definitely be making this again; maybe with raisins next time. Hmm.. okay, before my baking muse starts rambling, here’s the recipe for delicious and Healthy Apple Bread.

Healthy Apple Bread Recipe

Ingredients

3 Medium Apples (approx. 1.25lbs)
1/4 cup Honey
2 cups Old-Fashioned or Quick-Cooking Oats
2 Large Eggs
1-2 tsps Vanilla
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsps Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan (or your preferred pan- I’m using a mini loaf pan for nice snack-sized loaves). Set aside.
  2. Core, slice, then chop the apples. I did this to make things easier on my blender. Depending on your machinery, you may be able to blend bigger pieces.
  3. Now, you can add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and well combined. However, mix it as much as possible before doing so. If you over-blend the batter, the oats will warm and even begin to cook. If this happens, you won’t get the bread texture you hope for. For my second batch, I used a hand blender because it felt like it gave me more control over what needed more blending. Use whichever method is easier for you.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. If the loaf starts to brown more on top before the center is done, tent it with foil until baked all the way through.
  7. Let the loaf cool completely in the pan. Store bread in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Enjoy!
