Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Line Review

Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Line Review

I have always loved trying different shampoos and conditioners.  Let’s just say, that I expressed myself as a teen and in my early twenties by dyeing my hair… multiple times.  I only stopped doing so a couple of years ago when I started a “love yourself the way you are” mission.  It was time to try and be more natural, so that meant no hair dyeing and less make-up etc.  Having dyed my hair so many times, I was definitely calling out “SAVE MY HAIR!”.

It took awhile for my hair to feel less brittle, and I am still wishing I had fuller, thicker hair instead of the thin hair that I have but oh well, work with what you’ve got, right?  I have been using the Live Clean line recently because it feels so natural and my hair likes it but I always return to my favorite brand- Herbal Essences.

The scents that this line has are just too amazing.  Therefore, when I was accepted for a #BzzAgent Campaign “#Gotitfree” and I was able to try the new Bio-Renew line of Herbal Essence Shampoo, Conditioner and Dry Shampoo, I was ecstatic (#LetLifeIn).  I usually purchase the Clairol Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Orchid & Coconut line, so I wanted to try something new to help repair my hair that is dealing with the harsh Montreal Winter at the moment.  Here are my reviews of each product (spoiler- I LOVE them).  I will also share the description and ingredient of each at the end.

The new Herbal Essences’ collection is changing the hair care game. With nine collections inspired by nature, your hair will feel nourished from the outside in. On top of those fantastic smelling natural ingredients, the collection is specially formulated with a new blend called bio:renew to make your hair more vibrant and full of life. Bio:renew merges the best of nature and science, combining antioxidants, aloe and sea kelp to remove build up and restore softness and shine to your hair while the dry shampoo instantly absorbs oil for a water-less wash that leaves no excess residue. Get ready to enjoy irresistibly vibrant hair.

Argan Oil of Morocco:

Shampoo

This Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo smells delicious and it made me super excited to try the conditioner.  It came out thick like a conditioner but it felt very lightweight and it made my hair feel squeaky clean.  Ladies, you know what I mean when I say squeaky clean right? It is hard to explain but you know the feeling when you get it because not all shampoos offer it.  Perhaps it’s because they do not have as many natural ingredients in them.  Either way, I absolutely love how this shampoo makes my hair feel, without making it seem like all of the natural oils are stripped away and how it smells afterwards.  I was laying in bed with my fiance and I was confused because he smelled like vanilla. I only realized afterwards that it was because I was smelling my own hair. Oops. I swear, you can’t make this stuff up; I was laughing for ten minutes straight.  Overall, I really enjoy this shampoo which is not something I say too often.

Conditioner

Conditioning my hair is my favorite part of my shower routine.  I don’t know why, and I know that makes me weird but I absolutely love lathering in some conditioner and letting it sit for a few minutes.  This conditioner makes me want to leave it in my hair forever.  I recently cut my hair so I tried to use less product and this still made my hair feel a-maz-ing.  Just like the shampoo, it came out thick like conditioner usually does, but the instant it touched my hair, the thickness seemed to dissolve and it simply left a great, nourishing coat on my locks.  After I styled my hair, it was just as soft as it was after leaving the hair salon.  Love, love, love this product.

Cucumber & Green Tea Revitalizing Dry Shampoo:

My hair simply does not like Dry Shampoo.  The first time I wasn’t completely disappointed by it was when I used Herbal Essence Grapefruit Volumizing Dry Shampoo, but even then, I did not use it very much.  I really like the scent of this dry shampoo and I think that is one of the major selling points.  It is perfect for when you don’t have time to have a full hair wash and need to get out the door.  The only thing I wish, is that it didn’t make my roots look oily, but that has been my issue with all of my dry shampoo experiences.  Even if I brush it through my hair and follow the directions exactly as I should, it does not work.  Oh well.  Overall, for this product I would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes using dry shampoo in general.
