Steak and Kale Stir Fry Recipe

Posted on July 17, 2014May 20, 2022 by At Home With Joanna

I just finished making the best stir fry I have ever made and it only took about 15 minutes.  I have been hearing about kale and its benefits (read the Top 10 Health Benefits here) for months now.

Yesterday, I used Kale for the first time by using it in a smoothie.  I have been trying to use the food I already have before going out for groceries.  While I wish I could have put even more healthy ingredients in this dish, I did the best I could with what I had.  It was delicious!

Steak and Kale Stir Fry

Ingredients

3 cuts of peppercorn tenderized steak

1 Cup of Kale

1/4 Cup Water

1 Tomato Chopped

2 Garlic Cloves Minced

Soy Sauce

2 Cups of Whole Grain Rice

1 tsp of Butter

Instructions

Heat a frying pan with a bit of butter over medium heat.  Mix the garlic with the soy sauce and water.  Heat this in the pan and then add the steak.  Once the meat is no longer pink, add the kale and tomatoes.  Reduce heat to a simmer and keep basting it with the liquid until the kale is soft.  In the meantime, cook your rice.  Put the rice in a bowl and add the contents of the frying pan on top.

As you can see, the ingredients are very simple.  You do not need to use pepper or salt because of the amount of salt in the soy sauce and the pepper on the peppercorn steak.  If I had onions, bell peppers etc.  I would have added them as well however sometimes we just have to work with what we have!

I am excited to try more kale recipes, now that I know I enjoy it!

If anyone has any tips, please feel free to leave a comment.  Thank you in advance!
