THE TOP 10 RECIPES OF 2019

Top 10 Recipes of 2019

Posted on January 4, 2020January 4, 2020 by At Home With Joanna

2020 will bring several new recipes. Before this happens, let’s take a look at the recipes on At Home with Joanna that were viewed the most in 2019!

Orange Julep Drink Recipe

THE FAMOUS ORANGE JULEP DRINK

The most iconic part of “The Big Orange” (apart from their building), is their drink, the “Gibeau Orange Julep”.  It is delicious and while the exact recipe is unknown, I have made this version several times and it is close enough for me.  It is so good, that MTL Blog featured it as the closest recipe they have tried!

gordon ramsay one pot spicy sausage rice

GORDON RAMSAY’S ONE POT SPICY SAUSAGE AND RICE

Ramsay’s One Pot Spicy Sausage dish has become a family favorite in our household.  This recipe comes from the “Good Food For Less” Chapter of Gordon Ramsay’s Home Cooking: Everything You Need to Know to Make Fabulous Food.

PC DECADENT CHOCOLATE CHUNKS COOKIES

Liam loved to help me make them, so they are another toddler-friendly recipe.  Let your kids help by pouring in the ingredients, or stirring.  It always makes for a fun activity!

AUDREY HEPBURN’S MAC & CHEESE

While I have made homemade Mac & Cheese before, I decided to make Audrey Hepburn’s Mac and Cheese Recipe from Audrey at Home: Memories of My Mother’s Kitchen as my first “Audrey Meal”.

DELICIOUS PORK TENDERLOIN WITH MUSHROOMS, CARROTS, AND ONIONS

For this recipe, I used my “go-to” marinade mixture but it was the first time I used it with the mushrooms, carrots, and onions. It was absolutely delicious and tastes even better once it’s reheated.  The sandwiches you can make out of the leftovers are tasty too!

7 MINUTE ANTIOXIDANT SALAD

It is healthy, quick and tasty; perfect as a side dish or on its own.  I love feta cheese, and the combination of the feta and grapes is delicious.  Avocado, tomato and cucumber together is another one of my favorite fast salads when mixed with some chicken.  This whole recipe is a medley of my favorite salads!

CANADIAN LIVING BEEF STROGANOFF

Found on page 15 of the Jan/Feb 2018 Edition of Canadian Living, this recipe was a must-try.  I have tried making Beef Stroganoff before, but I am always trying new recipes to experiment with. I really enjoyed this recipe!

ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH, APPLE & CARROT SOUP

After making numerous butternut squash soups, I’ve learned that roasting the ingredients beforehand makes all the difference.  By roasting the ingredients, they caramelize and the spices you add while doing so are further absorbed.  This Roasted Butternut Squash, Apple & Carrot Soup is wonderful for any cool day, and is full of healthy ingredients.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

DELICIOUS HOMEMADE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

Inspired by a recipe found on Inspired Taste, this may be the most delicious homemade Chicken Noodle Soup I have ever had. This one had been good, but it also shows me how much I have improved with my cooking skills since 2016… thank goodness.

White Bean Garlic Shrimp Soup

WHITE BEAN GARLIC SHRIMP SOUP

Perfect for Fall and Winter, this delicious soup is easy to make and if you have any leftovers, they will taste just as good, if not better than the first time you eat it!

As a bonus, I needed to mention this delicious dish, Thai Red Curry Shrimp Soup. It’s SO good, and there are so many ways to add different ingredients that it’s perfect for everyone.

Thank you for continuing to come to me for recipe inspiration! It means so much to me and I wish you all an amazing 2020!

The Land of Sweet Forever: Stories and Essays
