Trending: The Boom of Quartz Countertops

Posted on July 1, 2022July 1, 2022 by At Home With Joanna

Recently, I posted an article about the most popular kitchen countertops of 2022.  Let’s just say, it made me look at my countertops differently.  It’s hard not to want a full kitchen makeover!  Among the list of popular countertops I discussed, are quartz countertops.  They are quickly becoming one of the most requested features of any home and kitchen renovation.

Since I am not all that familiar with luxury countertops (apart from a bit of prior research), it made me wonder why quartz countertops are so popular now?  Are they worth all of the hype?  Let’s take a deeper look at the quartz countertop and why it may be the right countertop for your home.

What is Quartz?

According to the Minerals Education Coalition, “Quartz is one of the most common minerals in the Earth’s crust. […] It is found in all forms of rock: igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. Quartz is physically and chemically resistant to weathering. When quartz-bearing rocks become weathered and eroded, the grains of resistant quartz are concentrated in the soil, in rivers, and on beaches.”

We know you didn’t sign up for a Quartz 101 class.  However, this explains why prestige quartz is such a popular choice for kitchens; it is both physically and chemically resistant.  Needless to say, this makes it perfect to have in an area that may contain sharp knives, and/or household cleaners.

A Competitive Market

As Fortune Business Insights observes, “[…] the customizability, durability, eco-friendly nature of the engineered stone is increasing the demand for quartz kitchen countertops.”

It’s clear to see that prestige quartz would easily fit into almost any kitchen. Regardless of what style may be in mind during the overall interior design phase of the home. Quartz would simply be an effortless addition. This is not to say that your research is now done. It would be irresponsible for anyone to advise any homeowner or tenant to automatically go with the first option that “sounded good”.

Something that I love to do whenever I’m weighing options, is to make a Pro and Con list. First, I write down what stands out to me instantly. Then, after doing more research, I add my discoveries to the appropriate columns. Whenever possible, I ask a more knowledgeable person for their advice and take that into account. Sometimes all it takes is to see a visual representation of what you know to be true.

Pros and Cons of Quartz Countertops

If you’ve been wondering if quartz countertops are right for you, it may be time for YOU to weigh your pros and cons. Make sure you’ve covered all reasonable options that fit your budget. Here are a few to get you started:

There are too many factors that are unique to you and your situation, for us to undeniably say that Quartz is perfect for you.  We couldn’t even write out the entire pro and con list for you; we just hope you’ve been introduced to a new option to consider. Maybe it is less expensive than your other options or another point stands out to you. Hopefully, we haven’t made your renovations even more complicated. In either case, now may be a good time to speak to a professional.

Still Can’t Decide If Quartz Countertops Are Right For Your Home?

If you’re curious about how quartz countertops would fit into your home, there’s no harm in getting more information.  The knowledgeable staff at Granite Prestige can help you decide if prestige quartz countertops are the best option for your specific space and needs.

Or, maybe you’ll discover that another luxury countertop is even better for your home.  Their website is great for finding countertops that you may not realize are even available as options!  Titanium countertops, prestige quartz countertops, granite marble countertops… the list goes on.  This is why the Granite Prestige Kitchen Visualizer Tool is so helpful.  Having so many choices can be overwhelming.  This tool can help you narrow down your list quickly and easily.  You should definitely try it!

If you don’t feel ready to commit to a certain idea, that’s okay too!

Personally, I have a billion pins on Pinterest saved for the future.  Will I definitely use all of them to create my dream home?  Of course not.  I just like knowing that I can find extra inspiration or useful resources in just a few clicks or taps.
